PHILOSOPHY
We surround ourselves daily with so much that is
impersonal: furniture, clothing, decor--all rolled out of
automated factories. Objects that once felt the hand of a
skilled craftsman are now the product of robots and assembly
lines. A craftsman's pride and personal stamp has been
traded for profit lines and production maximization.
It is my philosophy that humanity wants something better.
We yearn for those precious things that speak to us of pride
and care. We yearn for something, beautiful and simple, that
tells us that this creation is personal, because the maker was
someone who cared.
For these reasons all of my furniture is custom designed
and built by hand. I strive to create designs that respect the
scarcity of our resources and honor nature. Often my pieces
make hints to the past in playful design elements. Above all,
in each piece, I work to create furniture that is deeply
personal.
